Jenna Paddey is an illustrator we stumbled upon on Instagram. We saw an illustration she made in our Explore page and just instantly loved all her portraits. Also having just binge watched the two seasons of “The Crown” we couldn’t help but love the portrait she made of Margaret. Her use of a pastel palette is simply amazing. She demonstrates that you do not need to use bright colours to catch your attention!
If you are a coffee lover like us and live in Montreal, you know that we are blessed by living here. If you’d like, you can discover a new coffee shop each week. A coffee shop that we recently discovered is Café Ferlucci. Having seen pictures floating around on Instagram, we thought it was finally time that we went to have a look.
You’re vegan or simply love vegan food and don’t feel like dragging everyone to a vegan restaurant? We compiled a list of our favourite restaurants that have great vegan options! Here are the places we go that are vegan-friendly.
Our most favourite thing of this series is to see how every one’s styles are so so different. You can see a little piece of each creator in all that they create. Since temperatures are dropping and it’s getting colder outside, we want to introduce you to an illustrator that will bring colour to your life. Meet Mark Conlan. He has created a beautiful universe with creations you can find yourself in. We hope you enjoy his art as much as we do!
As we promised in our past blog posts, we wanted to broaden this series to all kind of creatives. We are super happy to announce that Nikki Van De Poel also known as Satellite June on Instagram is our first photographer in the Discover the Creators series! We have been following her on Instagram since a couple of years and simply love how she accurately captures emotions as well as show the photographer behind the shot with her beautiful self portraits.
Nia Gould also knows as Niaski has captured our hearts the first time we stumbled upon her series “What If Your Favourite Artists Were Cats?”. For any cat lovers out there, you will thank us for this. She creates beautiful illustrations that bring two worlds together beautifully. Art and Cats. Could it be any more perfect?
We stumbled upon Marianna Tomaselli on Instagram a couple of weeks ago. When seeing her work, it seems to instantly catch your attention. She makes you feel as if you are a part of her art. You are part of the universe she created in her illustration, each one is their own world. It’s this feeling that keeps you coming back to see what she will create next!
It is safe to say that we love contemporary illustrations. Thus, when we found Michelle Mildenberg’s we absolutely fell in love with her work. We love the use of her colour palette. The reds in her illustrations just keeps us coming back for more.
One of the reasons we wanted to start this blog is to shed light on local brands. We have been loving Stay Home Club for years but were always looking to find more Montreal brands and it was always hard to find. We would search for Montreal brands and were never satisfied with the results Google would give us.
