His & Hers April Favourites

I’ve seen many people write articles like these and I’ve always loved them! It’s a great way of finding out what other people have been loving and discovering new products! We might not do one every month but maybe a couple of times a year when we’ve tried new products that deserve to make it’s way on the list! Here are our April favourites!

Love Beauty Planet Shampoo & Conditioner – Argan Oil & Lavender

In the past couple of years, I have been looking for a shampoo and conditioner that really do make a difference. After seeing an Instagram post from Jaci Marie Smith, I discovered the Love Beauty and Planet range and thought that I simply had to try it. A couple of days later going through our pharmacy’s hair products aisle, I found out that they carried most of their products! I decided it was time to try it.

Since I have dry and frizzy hair, I picked up the ‘Argan oil & Lavender’ collection. Lavender is without a doubt one of my favourite scents, it was an absolute plus. I have been using their products for a month now and I love the effect is has had on my hair. They are definitely less frizzy and the lavender smell stays for at least 2 days!

Last thing I wanted to add is that their bottles are recycled and their products are vegan and not tested on animals!

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1%

As most of you have probably heard of the Ordinary, it’s no surprise that at least one product made the cut for me. This product was recommended to me by one of the employees at the Ordinary.

Little tip: If you don’t know what products you need or are a bit overwhelmed by the scientific names and percentages, send an email to them explaining your skin type and concerns. I did this and they sent me a full skin regime with their products.

I have been using this for almost 3 months now and absolutely love it. My pimples disappear much faster than before and my sensitive skin does not overreact to this product. I would like to note that I only saw a difference after at least a month of trying it. So if you don’t see results right away, don’t give up hope just yet. You will break out in the beginning (as you do with most new products) but it’s worth it in the end.

Laroche Posay Micellar Water Ultra Reactive Skin

I am sure you have heard of the micellar water trend. However for those who have not, “Micellar waters first gained momentum in Paris, a city whose skin-conscious inhabitants welcomed the opportunity to swerve the bad effects that the famously hard Parisian water had on their skin.” (Vogue)

As I have dry and sensitive skin, I decided to pick one up to see how my skin would react and I am not disappointed. This has been a skin saviour. Since I have started using this, my skin is not as dry as it used to be. I definitely recommend this! Find it here. I can’t find the same one for the USA so this one is similar.

Laroche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

As I have sensitive and very dry skin (especially the past winter), this has been a life saver! Around the holidays, I bought a value kit from Laroche Posay which included this and the micellar water. I am so happy that I bought it since I finally found something that truly satisfies my skin when I need it most!

Bulldog Sensitive Moisturiser

I’ve always struggled with hydrating my face. Every time I get out of the shower my skin gets so dry that most moisturisers don’t help. Luckily enough, I found Bulldog’s moisturiser when we were in Australia and ever since, my face stops falling apart after I washed it. This product is aso vegan and cruelty free 🙂

The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane

In my eternal fight against dry face, S. suggested me to try these weird The Ordinary products. I must say that I didn’t know how to feel about this medical looking brand. Turns out it works amazing! I use a couple of drops of oil every other day and I don’t have to hydrate my face until the evening. Another vegan and cruelty free product!

Lush Dirty Hair Cream

I discovered this hair styling cream by accident in a Lush store in Montreal, I had no idea they had any! I use it every morning to keep my hair in place. What I love about it that it doesn’t look to shiny and is not too sticky. When it rains it tends to melt, if it happens to you, just put your hair how you want and let it dry, it’ll stay in place perfectly.

Bkind Sensitive Skin Face Scrub

I have always loved exfoliating my face. However, my skin never agreed until I received this for Christmas. It’s definitely the best exfoliater that I’ve tried. Instead of being harsh on your skin after you are finished, It also acts as a moisturizer so it works on the most sensitive and dry skin. If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to!

BKind Rose Water Face

In the past, we have used multiple toners but none we’re ever just what we needed. Ever since we found the BKind Toner, we have been hooked. Our skin really thanks us after a hot shower!

Also, Bkind is a great local alternative to Lush, if you want to discover more awesome brands check out our Lush Alternatives post!

OGX Eucalyptus Mint Body Wash

We are obsessed with the Eucalyptus smell. I don’t know what it is but it instantly makes us feel at a spa. When we found a vegan and cruelty-free Eucalyptus body wash, we absolutely had to buy it. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed.
